Nutrition: It’s Time to Jazz Up your Water!

Fresh fruit, herbs, and some vegetables can make great flavors for your water, either still or sparkling. Citrus, berries, melons, fresh ginger, and fresh mint are all great options. Infused water is best 2-4 hours after you have made it, or overnight in the fridge!

Some ingredients are better than others. With herbs, some last longer than others; basil lasts 2-3 days soaked in water but fresh rosemary can last up to a week!

Here are some combinations you can try at home to help stimulate that “thirst drive” and can help you meet your fluid goals especially now that it is getting warmer out!

  • Honeydew Melon, Cucumber & Mint
  • Diced Strawberries, Basil & Lemon
  • Blueberry, Lemon & Rosemary
  • Blackberries, Orange & Ginger
  • Watermelon, Kiwi, & Lime
  • Mango, Raspberry & Ginger

Get creative with both still and sparkling water! Mix and match different ingredients that you love! Your kids will love these different flavors too!
