Adventure Series for Veterans and Families
Join other Veterans and their Families for FREE activities to strengthen family bonds before, during and after military deployment. Veterans and Families may explore a new sport, meet other Veterans and Military Families, and learn more about the clinical services, education, and research offered by Home Base. Home Base collaborates with businesses and non-profit community organizations throughout New England who host the Adventure Series activities. Past activities include: skiing, skating, and museum visits in the winter and sailing, attending baseball games, and other sports in the summer time. Events are open to both adaptive and able-bodied participants.

Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA Family Adventure Day
Saturday: March 7, 2020 (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
We’re partnering with Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA for a day of winter activities and S’mores around the campfire. Join us as we head out to Becket, MA for a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including hiking, a climbing wall, ice skating, snow tubing, puzzles and games. Lunch is provided so bring your appetite for good food and good adventure.
Mudflat Pottery Class for Military Families
Saturday: March 21, 2020 (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
We’re excited to offer Military Families a two-hour pottery class at Mudflat Studio in Somerville, MA. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with family and friends while learning a new skill. Who knows, you might just craft your new favorite mug!
Warrior Ice Arena Skating
Saturday: April 4, 2020 (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
Join us for a fun day of ice skating at the practice arena for the Boston Bruins. Skate rentals and pizza will be provided, so grab the entire family to join us for a chance to skate on the same ice the legends skate.
Museum of Fine Arts*
Saturday: April 18, 2020
*Registration opens Friday, February 28th.
Boston Duck Boats and the Museum of Science*
Sunday: April 26, 2020 (8:30 AM – 3 PM)
Join Home Base for a Duck Boat Tour of Boston followed by admission to the Museum of Science. the Boston Duck Tours is continually voted to be Boston’s best tour. The tour is approximately 80 minutes long and cruises by 35 famous landmarks so come tour the city in the W.W. II style amphibious landing vehicles for a journey unlike anything you’ve had before. Even if you’re a local, you just might see something new! *Registration opens Friday, February 28th.
